Found; Chapter Seven

Three more weeks until London. Que panic attack. I had just finished up my classes and I headed home to begin picking outfits to bring with me to London. When I got to my door I saw Beth sitting on boxes of her stuff.
“Hey Beth.” I said cautiously.
“Hi.” She sighed. “I broke up with Liam.”
“Liam?” I asked confused.
“The boy in the band that I ran away with. Sorry for disappearing on you like that.” She said as a fake smile crossed her face. I walked up to her and gave her a hug.
“It’s fine. And I need my roommate back anyway, it gets really quiet at night and I kinda get scared.” I laughed. We each grabbed a box and headed inside. And to my surprise, Zayn was napping on the sofa.
“What is he doing here?” Beth asked.
“I’m not sure. Wake him up for me.” I said. She went up to Zayn and began screaming in his ear. He sat up quickly bumping heads with Beth.
“Ouuuuuuuuuu, what the fuck?!” Zayn yelled panicked.
“You hit me in the head idiot!” Beth yelled back.  
“Who wakes someone up like that?!”
“I DO!” Beth screamed.
“Shut up!” I yelled. They both sat down in response. “Now apologize.”
“No.” They both said in unison. I just looked at them disapprovingly.
“I’m sorry.” Beth said giving in.
“Me too.” Zayn sighed.
“Good. Now what the hell are you doing here Zayn?” I asked.
“I’m visiting. Is that illegal?” He replied.
“No, but usually people call before they barge into someone’s home.”
“My bad. What is she doing here?” Zayn asked pointing to Beth.
“I live here.” She replied.
“Broke another boy’s heart and now you gotta move back in huh?” Zayn asked.
“You don’t even know the story.” Beth replied.
“Then tell us.” I said interrupting their bickering. “Best friends forever right?” Beth curled up into a ball with her arms crossed and everything. She looked so vulnerable. She couldn’t even look at us.
“I wish you guys could feel how I feel. I didn’t want to do that to Harry. But I had to. Imagine being told to leave school to go meet Haz in LA. Imagine being told to smile bigger on the next date. Imagine being told to act like a fight happened between you and the one you love. Imagine being told that you had to spend Christmas with Harry’s family and you couldn’t even bring your own twin brother with you. Imagine being forced to be this person that you’re not. Just imagine that. I don’t have to imagine that, because I lived it. And I hated it. As much as I told myself that this would benefit Harry and I, I knew it didn’t. It was tearing us apart, it was tearing me apart. I couldn’t go on like that.” She paused and finally looked up. “So I tried to move on. Tried to replace Harry. And then he came back. When I saw you guys at the park. I knew I should have been there with you guys. When Simon told me about the fashion internship, I took it right away. Maybe a relationship isn’t the best thing for us right now, but I don’t want to lose him. Ever.”     
“I’m sorry for being a bitch.” Zayn said pulling her into a hug.
“It’s fine. Just don’t assume shit next time.” She smiled. “Are you going to be okay Anna?” She asked looking up at me.
“I just need a moment.” I said trying to piece myself together. All these love stories messing with my emotions. “Yeah, I’m fine.” I said taking a deep breath.
“How’s Meg?” Beth asked turning to Zayn.
“She’s still pretty darn amazing.” He smiled.
“Did you visit her when you went back like you were supposed to?” I asked.
“Of course I did. I can’t stay away from her too long. I’m going back there when I leave here.” He smiled.
“So how was it?” I asked.
“She was studying. I slept. That’s all.” He shrugged.
“Liar.” Beth said. “Meg called me a couple weeks ago just to fangirl over him.”
“Okay okay. I gave her a little surprise I guess. I told her I was leaving the night before the exam. She was really sad, but I just went to stay at Niall’s place. Then when she got home from the exam I was sitting on her bed with a bouquet of flowers. That’s all.” He said.
“You’re a good guy Zayn.” I smiled. He just smiled back.
“So do you guys want to help me get settled?” Beth asked. We went straight to setting her room up like it was before. We ordered some Chinese food and sat in Beth’s half set up room.
“I’m excited.” Zayn mumbled through his full mouth.
“For what?” Beth asked.
“The summer with you guys.” He replied.
“You guys? Anna you’re coming too?!” Beth said excited. She hugged me from excitement. “Oh my gosh! It’s going to be last year all over again. You can make new memories!”
“Or Mica can.” Zayn said.
“Mica? Who’s Mica?” Beth asked. I just looked at Zayn. Why did he have to bring it up like that? He makes it sound so dumb. “I’m not getting the joke here. Seriously, who the heck is Mica?” Beth asked confused.
“That’s Mica.” Zayn said pointing to me.
“I still don’t get it. Explain.” Beth demanded.
“I’m Mica. It’s my middle name.” I sighed. “Do I look anything like the old Anna? The one from before the accident?”
“Not really. So you dye your hair and get glasses. Now you change your name?” Beth asked.
“Haz’s idea.” Zayn said.
“What? That idiot.” Beth said.
“Okay, okay. I was talking to Harry and I told him I wanted to start over. So I wouldn’t be reminded that I don’t remember three years of my life. So he was like, go for it. And I guess I am.” I shrugged.
“So you’re telling me that you are no longer Anna. You are Mica.” Beth said.
“Yes.” I replied.
“You’re crazy.” She laughed.
“I’m serious. You can’t call me Anna around the rest of the group. I’m not kidding.” I said.
“Yes you are. Zayn, tell me she’s kidding.” Beth said still laughing.
“I wish she was. It’s stupid right?” Zayn said.
“So you’ve seriously been fooling them this whole time? And you’re going to keep fooling them for the rest of the summer?”
“Uhm, yes?” I said very unsure of what I was doing.
“Well good luck to ya kid.” Beth said finishing up her food.
“You’re going to need it.” Zayn followed. We finished eating and headed our separate ways. Each of us chilling in our rooms until exhaustion took over.
